" The second is that once a costume becomes comfortable and commonplace for a person, the person may put it on *without* the intent that he used to have. " I have these old pair of ripped up levis that I love to wear. Jez, they must be six years old by now. Their so comfortable and soft; I just can't seem to part with them. When I come home from work and change into my schlepping around clothes; I usually reach for my old jeans. A copla guys I know, have suggested that I wear more attractive (guppie style clothing) - look more fashionable be more approachable - they have my mother's "what will people think" type attitude. Jez, I'm not really trying to give out any particular set of vibes by the way I dress. Well, perhaps when I go out to "Chaps", but certainly not when I run over to the gym or to my favorite record store. Anyway, the point Rob made about how people respond diffrently to styles of dress and what is blase to one and avant-garde to another really seems to be true. Maybe it stems from our upbringing or something. In Ohio, its was just us poor farm boys having a good ol'e time. People weren't really into clothing as much as they seem to be here in Boston. eric... the (quazi-weird-hysterically_emotional-cosmic-clone)
