The offending fingers have been severely chastized... ...Eric Bustad on machaids has probably fingered the culprit, that being my unfortunate selection of "." as my offering to the line-eater in netnews; by trying to be unobtrusive, i've probably caused the whole problem due to, according to Erics' reasoning, some link twixt here and there using a mailer to forward the news, and we all know what mailers will do when encountering a line with a single "." in the first position... ...does this sound right to you Net-perts? doug
