[net.news.adm] 0-length articles by the time they get to Britian

elias@eosp1.UUCP (Doug Elias) (03/09/84)

.
i've just been informed by a friendly chap in Britian that all
articles i've posted have been truncated to 0-lines by the time
his machine receives them; now, i ain't got that much interesting
to say (like the majority of netter-submitters it seems), so maybe
this is the result of a hidden "worthless-news" editor, but i kinda
doubt it...maybe a major nexus in the States and one in Europe could
exchange notes on the volume of 0'd articles they each receive?

...and what about the Aussies? You folks seeing a lot of 0'd articles
Down There?

...many thanks to Nigel Horne on root44 in UK, tho he probably won't
see this either...

Your articles are 0-length because you begin them with a "." alone
on a line. Some mailers and newsreaders interpret that as a terminator,
and there goes the rest of the article.

DO NOT create any lines in your article that have nothing but one ".".
