I hope this is the right newsgroup for this - apologies if it isn't. For some reason, expire doesn't seem to be expiring old articles. I really don't know for sure how expire decides what to look at, but I set the expiration time at 1 week when I compiled the news stuff. Expire runs every night, but for some reason we still have a lot of articles sitting around that are over a week old. I checked them, and they don't have an explicit expire date in them. How does expire know what to look at to consider expiring news? If there is no 'expires' line in the file, does it just check last modified date? Is this a known problem? Is there a known (but not by me) fix for this? Thanks in advance for you help. -- "My system is so slow we don't use 'who' anymore - it's faster to walk around the building and count the users."
