[net.news.adm] Automatic routing for post/Pnews?

Ok, so I got the pathalias stuff to work (yea! user@host). Now how
do I get postnews/Pnews to optimize their paths accordingly? (Is there
a way?) I figure someone must have hacked this out at some point..

Rebuild postnews with INTERNET defined in defs.h.  This only works to sites
whose name appears in the uucp map.  For example, I cannot find greipa in
the map. (I know!  I know!  It's in the mail... :-) )

Don't forget to send uucp connection info to this address:
                              cbosgd!uucpmap

I'm not sure I understand.  postnews/Pnews don't do or need path optimizing.
They just forward the article to your (usually small) set of news neighbors.

The reply command of readnews/vnews/rn however, is another issue.

Uhhhh.  Yeah.  I posted an answer to the question in the original but
where I wrote "postnews" I meant to say vnews/readnews.  In other words,
as has been pointed out, pathaliases need only be used when "replying"
to an article. So rebuild vnews/readnews with INTERNET turned on.  Sorry
for my flub.
