I am fairly new to the net (1 month), and in all my readings I have not been able to find mention of the ARPA digests, except in the newsgroup for us neo-users, and there the info was useless. Out site doesn't carry these digests, and I was wondering if they could be "gatewayed" (if that is the correct term) over to my site. I have absolutly no idea how these networks operate (- i.e. don't flame me for my ignorance -). I am only interested in the Telcom Digest. I saw a copy of it ages ago, and I don't even know if it exists anymore. Please mail your responses extolling the virtues of being a net.demi.god, and the vices of being a new user :-) -John Kalucki (@ Bell Labs, Murry Hill, NJ) ...!inhp4!charm!kalucki ^^^^^ ! ! As per long-standing plan, the "fa" groups are soon to be converted to "mod" type groups. Does your site get "mod" groups? If so, hang tight and you'll start seeing them soon. If you don't get "mod" groups (and you currently aren't getting "fa" groups) ask your sys admin if that is site policy or just problems with their configuration (or up the line). It could also be a result of the way you are invoking the newsreader program of your choice (as you said, you are a new user). Try: readnews -n fa.all mod.all -x and see what you get. -- Gene "4 months and counting" Spafford The Clouds Project, School of ICS, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 CSNet: Spaf @ GATech ARPA: Spaf%GATech.CSNet @ CSNet-Relay.ARPA uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,hplabs,ihnp4,linus,seismo,ulysses}!gatech!spaf
