[net.news.adm] burl news down due to disk hardware problems

rcj@burl.UUCP (Curtis Jackson) (09/13/85)

Out of 3 RM05 drives and 3 monster RA81 drives, 2 of the RA81's on burl
are down with hardware problems. This means that I have nowhere to put
/usr/spool/news. News on burl will be down until at least one of the
RA81's is fixed.

I am hoping that something will be fixed by the end of the day; if not
then it will probably be Monday or maybe even Tuesday.

I'll be out Monday but will be in Whippany, NJ Bell Labs Tuesday morning;
I'll check with Larry Auton at clyde then to see if either he or Steve
needs to work something out on spooling due to lack of disk space. If
either of the disks is fixed before then, my SA has instructions on how to
turn news back on. So, assuming the worst case where both disks are still
down by Tuesday morning, Steve @ ulysses can contact Larry Auton @ WH
(CORNET 232-4272) and we'll work something out.

VERY sorry for this inconvenience from a backbone site,
