[net.misc] Your favorite board game

gdvsmit@watrose.UUCP (Riel Smit) (06/04/85)

15 to 20 years ago we often played board games (ones like Clue -- we knew
it as Cluedo -- Scrabble, Monopoly, Careers, etc.). The other day I was
thinking of the fun times we had and thought maybe it is time to invest
in some new board games. The problem is that I don't want to buy one just
to find out that I don't like it. (We bought PolEconomy a while ago, but
thus far I am not too excited about it.) Therefore, the following question:
What is your favorite board game(s)? "Board game" can be taken liberally:
Upwords could qualify (but not pure card games). A short description of
the game you vote for would be greatly appreciated.

Please respond by e-mail. If there are enough responses, I'll summerize
to the net.

These are the results of the "vote" on your favorite board game. Please
realize that this was not really a vote, since most people just mentioned
the games that they have played and have found interesting/enjoyable. I
just counted the number of responses that mentioned each game. Note that
some games are not really board games.

If anyone wants more information on a specific game, I am willing to mail
the descriptions/comments that I received about it; just drop me a note.
