[net.news.adm] do you get cable TV near your computer?

One possible problem with Stargate that has come up is that, since it uses
cable TV to get the traffic, and most of us are businesses or universities,
it may be hard to get cable run up to your computer. (After all, cable TV
is aimed at residences.)

I'd like to take a survey to find out if this is going to be a problem.
I'd appreciate it if one person per machine (perhaps the netnews admin)
would send me a quick reply to this indicating if

(1) It is possible to get cable TV (with WTBS) within reasonable RS232
cabling distance to your netnews computer (or if you have an alternative
arrangement in mind, e.g. you have a computer at home and have cable TV
there, or you could put up a satelite dish.)

(2) If you think your site might be interested in getting netnews (mostly
higher quality moderated groups) via Stargate. We don't know the cost yet,
but it's reasonable to expect that it will be much less than you're spending
now on long distance netnews transmissions.

If you don't know the answer to (1), you might phone your local cable company
and ask them. Perhaps your building is already wired up and you just don't
know about it! Remember, even if there is an installation fee, or if you
have to buy a dish, it ought to be considerably less than the phone bills.
