Gee, when we started spooling news on this filesystem, there were 50 Mbytes free... Anyway, /usr, including /usr/spool filled up on uwvax at 23:18 CST on Apr 24. Through a quirk of fate, I happened to be logged in at the time and made things reasonable by 23:28 (I removed two vmcore files). From what I can tell, we weren't receiving any uucp mail from anyone at the time, however, we were sending batches of news at the time. If you posted something late this evening and uwvax is your feed (you know who you are), you might want to post again. I think a batch to seismo got canned. dave p.s. sendmail isn't all bad -- it runs as root, so a number of messages that got queued during that time *didn't* get lost. -- Dave Cohrs (608) 262-1204 ...!{harvard,ihnp4,seismo,topaz}!uwvax!dave dave@rsch.wisc.edu
