I am trying to decide on whether or not to buy an Atari 5200 and I have a few questions. I would appreciate any replies as soon as possible as I have to decide before the end of the week (rebate ends). Later replies also ok to help confirm my decision. I will post a summary if I get enough response. (I already own a 2600). 1) My main concern is whether or not anything markedly better will be available for the home market in the near future. Anybody know of any developments. I would guess not given that the video game market has died down a little. 2) Are the games for home computers (TI, C64, etc) much better than those for the 5200 (graphics, sound, etc) ? Good enough to warrant the extra bucks for each game plus the extra bucks to buy the computer itself? 3) I have eliminated Colecovision and Intellivision II. Should I have? Colecovision because it appears to be on par with the 5200 and Coleco eventually makes all their games for the 5200 but I don't think 5200 games can be played on Colecovision.
