[net.cog-eng] menus vs. commands

MULTIPLAN is another micro-computer program that uses the
horizontal menu approach. It displays keywords on a couple
of lines and permits pointing with the cursor, typing the
first letter as a command, or in some cases hitting an equivalent
function key. This is a joy to use. Frequently used sequences
are obtained directly with command keystrokes, but at any point
where you are stuck, the menu is right there to help you out.
The menu depth is held to 2 or 3 levels, and a ^C or CANCEL key
gets you pronto to the top. Mel Haas , houxm!mel
