[net.cog-eng] experiments on command language punctuation

dir@cbosgd.UUCP (Dean Radin) (04/12/84)

I am presenting a paper later this year on the effects of
command language punctutation on human performance. The
results of a series of experiments quite conclusively shows --
the more the punctuation, the worse off the command
language. The motivation for the
experiments, and the specific languages tested were
the CCITT Man-Machine Language (known as MML) and
semantically identical versions used in the
telecommunications world. If anyone would like more
details, drop me an e-note or respond to the notesfile.
CCITT, by the way, is an international group affiliated with
the United Nations that sets standards for telecommunications.
