[net.cog-eng] want rs-232 mouse < $500

boylan@dicomed.UUCP (05/27/84)

I am looking for a mouse that I can connect to an rs-232 port
on a 4.2bsd vax. I would prefer an optical mouse (I think) as
I did not like the mouse on the MAC.

I have zero references to mouse people although I have heard
there is a place called something like the Mouse House somewhere
on the west coast.

I want to connect this thing to our unix system to prototype the design
for some graphics software for a yet-to-be-approved project and am
thus somewhat bound by the $500 limit. I would like to find
something that has fairly high resolution, say usable with a
1Kx1K display.

I would also appreciate any references to literature that
specifically deal with the use of mice in (obviously) interactive
systems.

Please send me mail and I put something back on the net.

Your help greatly appreciated ...,

There may be others and several of the above may have changed
their designs or no longer offer mice. Microsoft also has a
mouse, but I do not have any information on it. Hope this
information is of some help to mouse hunters out there.
