I would not claim that women are inherently better healers [how-
ever overwhelming the evidence for it :-) ], but they do bring a
different attitude and perspective that can provide a balance
that is currently missing from this "male dominated" profession.
It is the imbalance that causes difficulties, not which gender
dominates a profession.
Today's medical advancements are tomorrow's atrocities. Circum-
cision, clitorectomies, removal of breasts, ovaries, and uteri
have all been considered good and proper procedure at some time.
Just because doctors no longer use leeches (mine gave them up
months ago) does not mean the medical art is free from ignorance
and prejudice.
