WHY is it that net.women.only is being FILLED with debate about CIRCUMCISION???!!!! I know how the whole thing started (unnecessary hysterectomies discussion), but I find it difficult not to see this as indicative of the way so many women's concerns are forgotten while men's concerns take over. (It's not that most women don't care about what is important to men. That is not what I'm saying.) It is obvious that men could find LOTS to talk about in net.men, judging from how much they have to say about themselves in net.women. Could we keep responses within certain reasonable bounds in this group? When someone asks about the American custom of women shaving their legs, let's not hear all about men's beards. When a woman is concerned about unnecessary hysterectomies, let's not hear about circumcisions and Biblical references to sexual sins. My objection to the direction these discussions has taken is not that the discussions are uninteresting, only that the original question is forgotten or ignored. I'd like to vote for thoughtful comments, ones which are RESPONSIVE (pro/con/supportive/informative). If net.men is not to be created, at least move the circ. discussion to net.med so that the focus can return to the concerns of women. Patricia Collins hplabs
