Has anyone succeeded in getting any information about the internal workings of the Vectrex video game (with its 6809 processor)? I have tried calling GCE (its manufacturer), but they are very closed-mouthed about the machine. They claim that its design is proprietary and will release no information about it, not even a service manual. In order to get a service manual, you need to be a licensed service rep (the license costs $$$) and you need to sign a non-disclosure agreement with GCE. It seems to me that withholding service information is in violation of various consumer protection statutes, but then I'm not a lawyer. If anyone has any info, I would be interested in learning more about this machine. Thanx in advance. Happy hacking, Dan McCabe decvax!microsof!danm

The way a hi-fi technician told me, it's the other way around. Seems that a court has ruled that if a company gives a service manual to an individual, it implicitly judges that individual competent to do repairs on the equipment. Someone got zapped, sued, and won.
