A sort a fun thing to try on the coco is a simple program which scans down the screen plotting a random series of pixels. This results in a rainbow of colors with very little (Like about 30 seconds) work. -Now if only OS-9 were here... -Dwight McKay ...princeton!mckay

To elaborate on Dwight's scheme: you want to plot white and black *vertical lines* at random horizontal locations. Be sure to use PMODE 4 and SCREEN n,1 to get the full benefit. I wrote such a program a year ago, and you can let it run for hours as the display gradually changes. It looks a lot like a view thru a spectroscope, except of course the colors aren't sorted from left to right. Should take about 5 lines of Ext Basic. mike k

If the program is short enough to be worthwhile typing in, please post it to this newsgroup. I'm not suggesting that huge amounts of source go around, but little things would be fun to have. Glad to see this newsgroup getting some action. Joseph L. Wood, III AT&T Information Systems Laboratories, Holmdel (201) 834-3759 ariel!jlw
