This has been posted to net.micro before, but since the creation of net.micro.6809, I figured it might be good to post it again here, as the information is much more useful to 6809 users. ------------------------ BIT BUCKET Bulletin Board System The Bit Bucket BBS is a no-cost, public access system in Portland, Oregon, that caters to users of any 68XX(X) based computer. This does not mean that it is restrticted to 68XX users, though - anyone is welcome. The system has been operational since January 1, 1983, and has seen rapid growth and change over it's lifetime. It now has a large user base, and is quite heavily used. The system supports general messages between users, private messages to and from the system operator, General information files containing useful information on local (Portland Area) clubs, numbers of other BBS systems, Humorous computer-related stories, etc. Also included is a small library of downloadable programs which any user may download and use on their own system. Another feature is a series of computer-related news articles by a local news reporter which keep users up-to-date on the latest developments in the computer field. The system operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. System currently operates at 300 baud (Bell 103) only. The phone number is (503) 761-6345. Note that once you get carrier from the system, you MUST press the RETURN (Enter) key until the system responds. First time users are encouraged to peruse the HELP files (use the H command to access the HELP files) to learn how to use the system. If you have any questions, leave a message on the system to "SYSOP", or send netmail to ...tektronix!tekig1!rickb. Rick Bensene System Operator, Bit Bucket BBS
