[net.micro.6809] Artisan Systems Corp phone number

sdyer@bbncca.ARPA (Steve Dyer) (01/31/84)

A while back, Joe Wood mentioned several vendors of single board 6809
computers. One of them,

   	Artisan Systems Corp.
	410 Cross Street
	Winchester, MA. 01890
	(617) 721-2109

~12x15 4-layer PC board. 68B09E @ 2Mhz. 64K-256K, 8-28pin sockets
for EPROM or STATIC RAM. 6-RS232C via 6551A ACIAs w/SW baud rate
110 to 19.2K. 6522A w/2-16 bit timers and 2-8bit parallel ports.
8 auto vectored interrupts. Independent 68B09E for 1-4 5-1/4 or 8
inch floppies DS, SD, DD. SASI interface for Winnie. FLEX available.
$895.00 w/64K and 4 Serial ports. FLEX $150.00. OS9 CALL. Forth CALL.

looks REAL attractive. Unfortunately, they seem to have left Winchester,
and the number given here now belongs to some family. Does anyone have
a more up-to-date phone number and address?

As the poster of the original article on alternate 6809 SBCs, I
felt I should go back and recheck the Artisan ad. All three
boards were advertised in the October `68' Micro Journal.
The October issue was the last one which the Artisan ad appeared
in. Don Williams has a reputation for kicking out advertisers when
they don't meet their obligations. The only board of the three mentioned
in my October article which is still advertsed in the January issue
is the one from Digital Research Computers. The COCO clone from
Peripheral Technology is gone as well.

PS:

The phone number was correctly copied from the ad. Please
give the poor folks who landed on that number a break. It
looks like Ma Bell's telephone number aging algorithm broke
down again. jlw
