[net.micro.6809] CoCo II speed query

els@pur-phy.UUCP (Eric Strobel) (03/19/84)

I've been weighing my possible choices for a micro. One concern
that I have is speed. I have occasion to work with matrices (dim < 10,
usually). Does anyone have any benchmark that they've run that might have
a bearing on this, and/or the results of such a benchmark. I suppose that
if the info is of sufficiently general interest I can post it, but
otherwise I can mail results to others interested in this.

                              Thanx in advance.

Check out the letter to Pournelle in the February 1984 *Byte* about a fellow
who ran Pournelle's matrix multiplication benchmark in BASIC09 on what seems
to be "The Mill," a 1MHz 6809 board that runs in an Apple, and for which one
can get OS-9 Level One.
