Unfortunately I, like some others on net, must agree with most of Frank Hogg's criticism of Coco OS9. However, he makes a bad assumption toward the end when he starts toting up dollar prices for "usable systems." He assumes buying an opperating system (Flex or OS9) just to run off-the-shelf application programs. BUT, if you want a *development system* where you can write your own code, then OS9 comes out ahead--because unlike FLEX, OS9 includes a full-featured editor (yeah, I hate it too) and fairly powerful assembler. If you put up with the 32-column screen (and you can, in assembler), then Radio SHack's $70 OS9 is all you need to write your own programs. If all you want is to run integrated applications, save your money, don't buy any OS, get your word-procs and spreadsheets from Nelson Softlaw (VIP series) or Elite. mike k
