<does usenet still eat this line?> I built an 8K static RAM card to occupy $E000-$FEFF (the upper half of the 16K cartridge space). Not only does it add 8K of RAM to the Coco, but object code loaded into it runs TWICE as fast (not 1.4 times) under the speed POKE to &HFFD7. (well, if all data fetches are also in the 8K). Reason: the SAM thinks those addresses are ROM, so gives the 6809E both clock cycles. As a music synthesis hacker (and graphics), I find this very very useful. Of course the board is switched out in 64K RAM mode, so won't help OS9 any. mike k
