At last week's local Coco Club meeting, a Radio Shack store manager in attendance revealed that Tandy is going to increase the "distance" between Radio SHack stores and its Computer Centers, which will drop the RS from their names. Thus Tandy 2000s and 100s and Model 16s can be sold without the onus of "trash for the 80s," or so they hope. I asked whether the Comp Centers would continue to carry serious software for the Coco, like OS9; he wasn't sure what would happen there. Come to think of it, lots of small-business work goes on Model I--IVs too, so trying to split up the systems like this may be awkward. I hope we don't have to depend on the local RS stores for OS9-grade items, since around here only the COmp Centers (and a few big, distant RSs) carry the good stuff. mike k PS: Anyone at trsvax care to comment? Must you change your VAX's name?
