Just a tip for those wishing to do C cross development work under UN*X for 6809 based targets. My previous employer (Four Phase Systems, Tempe, Az. 1-602-438-5600) has an extensive set of cross development tools for doing C development under UN*X. They have been selling 6809 based systems for several years. The systems run a UN*X like operating system called ISOS, which is derived from OS9 so it might be quite easy to adapt the development tools for OS9 targets. They recently developed techniques for running programs bigger than 64k and have used the new tools for porting things like Quadratron's Q1 word processor to the 6809. I doubt they would be interested in hearing from individuals (unless you have a few grand to spend for the tools), but they might be willing to license the entire tool set to other companies at a very reasonable price (they are phasing out the 6809 product and emphasizing their 68000 line). I would suggest contacting someone in their marketing department if you're interested. Happy hacking.
