[net.micro.6809] New user/OS9 info/Mail Merge

stoner@qumix.UUCP (David Stone) (11/29/84)

Hello out there in OS9 land

I'm rather new on the net but have been reading the articles in this
newsgroup with considerable interest, especially when it comes to OS9
information.

I have the dubious honor of managing our OS9 system here at Qume.
Our main use of the system is for software test development for letter
quality printers and the system we're running is a GIMIX using a Gimix
III cpu board (OS9 level II Ver. 1.2),19 Mbyte winchester hard disk,
(2) 8 in. floppys,(2) 256k ram boards,(2) 64k ram boards,and (5) 3 port
"Intelligent" serial I/O cards, and a few minor goodies thrown in.Some of
the major software we have is Basic09,Microware 'C' compiler,Microware
assembler,Stylograph word processing program, and a whole bunch of minor
utility programs.
The only reason I mention any of the above information is in case anybody
is interested in this system or has any questions I might be able to answer.
Most of what I do know was by trial and error and I still am learning how
to walk (especially in 'C') but I can still put in my 2 cent's for what
it's worth [probably 2 cent's :-)].

Now,if you have gotten this far I have a couple of questions to ask.

1) We currently have a membership in the os9 users group which is a good
source of goodies and information but I was wondering if anybody else
out there had any other good sources for programs, info, etc.

2) When I try to use the Stylograph II Mail Merge package from the Great
Plains computer company it works fine for printing stylograph files
BUT when I merge a data list file with the source file I keep getting
a ERROR #197 which is a watchdog counter interrupt.I've tried various
different ways of running this program but the error is still the same.
Occasionally after about 10-20 tries it will succeed but that's kind of
a pain. The watchdog counter delay interrupt is strapped for 128 cycles
(which is the maximum) on the cpu board. If anybody out there can help
me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
