[net.micro.6809] coco and robotics

johnw@reed.UUCP (John Windberg) (12/11/85)

Greetings.
I am new to this group and came here because I have a plan.
I would like to use the coco i picked up for robotics.
after studying the tech manual I descovered that there are pins at the
top and bottom of the cartridge port that seem to be unused, and that there
is a block of ram marked unused. My goal is to create something that will
use the otherwise unused part of the coco to control 8 relays and read
8 switches without making the computer unable to use any of its capabilities.
For example.
extending the cartridge port so that packs still fit in, but the pins i
need are used. So that the robot can walk into a room, you can plug in
a cartridge and it will still work.
Something like interfacer-80 by alpha for the mod iii would be ideal.
low budget and something i can build myself are considerations.

thanks in advance for any info
