Greetings, I wonder if anyone out there has a small portable OS9 hack to help me capture files from a modem connection to a mainframe. I.e. like UNIX cu with file capture... Or even just something to connect to remote and send a given string, and then receive until eof.... Help? Ideas? Pointers? Thanks. -- Shawn uucp: mit-eddie!shawn uucp1: cdstar!shawn arpa: Shawn at Mit-Mc

Well, there's Kermit for OS-9; there are XMODEM-based file transfer programs, one that will do CompuServe B protocol, and so forth...which is preferable under the circumstances you find yourself in? XCOM9, a freeware program, is quite nice. Various others exist in the CompuServe OS-9 SIG download area. okstate is the USENET distribution point for Kermit. (I think XCOM9 is on the CIS download area, too.) James Jones

Thanks. > Microware sells a utility for 6809 OS-9 systems called "ninecom". ninecom is similar in function to the UNIX "cu" or "tip" programs. ninecom allows connection to a remote computer (need not be OS-9) via a modem link. Files and be up and downloaded if desired.
