A few weeks ago I installed a reset button on my CoCo WordPak II 80-column pack. I write a lot of OS-9 'C' code for graphics. The WordPak makes program editing and listing so much nicer, but when it comes time to test the graphics code, you must reset & re-boot the CoCo with a version of OS9 that uses the built-in CCIO screen driver. [make that driverS if/when Version 2 shows up.] However, the WordPak doesn't reset from the bus reset line, so you have to power down to kill the thing, or else re-route your video cables to your monitor. (I use a baseband monitor circuit, not the RF TV). Also, re-booting OS9 turns it back on again sometimes, even after power-down (I'm an engineer not a witch doctor, don't ask me how this is possible). You can POKE the WordPak register from DEBUG, but that's not a program I like to use while typing "blind". So I found the 74LS174 that controls the video relay and wired a miniature pushbutton switch across it to ground. It's easy to do once you know where. I'll post the instructions if I get any requests. mike k PS: I could wire the button to the Bus Rest lead, but that could be annoying if I used the WordPak with Basic. PPS: This has nothing to do with the inability to exit from XCOM9 while using WordPak and ACIAPAK. Nobody has volunteered any theories on that one yet.
