We used to have a fish (a gourami) we called "the leaper", who would hurl his little fishy body out of the aquarium given the slightest opportunity, then lie there panting on the floor till someone noticed and put him back in the tank. Little bugger was sometimes out as long as 15 minutes, and still lived to the ripe old age of three, when the cat found him before we did.
