[net.legal] Can CATV companies charge for multiple hookups?

References:

I would like to feel that I can do what I want with the signal
that comes out of the CATV's control box. It ought to be enough
to recognize the sanctity of the box. But I was bemused by the
list of companies that do not charge for every interface item in the
house:
	gas company
	phone company
	water
	... etc ...

These companies charge for USE of what they provide. By all means
let's switch to this method for CATV; I know my family will come
out ahead! Let's just charge for each picture frame sent to each
TV set in the house. Perhaps the rate can be described as viewing
hours per month...

Then, what if you don't use the box at all. If it weren't for SHOWTIME
I wouldn't need it. I'd just run the cable into the TV. HBO and the
other channels just need a Cable Tuner (our company patches in HBO on
the pole).
