The other day while browsing in a magazine, I read in an advertisement placed by Ashton-Tate that "Ashton-Tate is a trademark of Ashton-Tate. . ." Now I had always been taught that the law didn't allow you to trademark proper names. So, for you legal beagles: Does the law allow to trademark hyphenated proper names?
