A grand jury makes preliminary investigations of accusations and decides whether to hand down an indictment, which is necessary before a trial can be held. A petit jury is the one that sits in the trial and decides guilty or not guilty. > 2.) I'm a hardware engineer, will that have any bearing on whether I'm > actually selected to sit on a jury? Yes, but it's hard to predict what bearing, except that you will almost certainly not be chosen to sit on a case involving computers. > 3.) Someone told me to bring a good book to kill time, does anyone have > any other advice? You will spend most of your time in a large room where you are not allowed to leave and not allowed to do anything noisy. In addition to your books, I suggest bringing cards and some music source with headphones.
