[net.legal] Being harassed by any means...

frye@cuuxb.UUCP (frye) (02/04/86)

Here we go again. Frye's gotta get his piece said on some
other topic...

I can't suppose its really legal to set up a computer to
repeatedly dial anyone's phone number. I even hate it
when I answer the phone and find out: "Congratulations,
you have been computer selected to be the unwilling
recipient of a recorded message that's trying to sell
you some shit you neither want nor need". God, I hate
that. Them damned fools better hope I never develop
enough patients to sit there and listen to their whole
recording. I may find out where they are then and go beat
hell out of their computerized autodialing peice of crap.
At least I can turn the channel selector on the tv or a
radio. I can't always ignore the phone when it rings.
Neither can anyone else. It really becomes a problem
when the harrassment is coming in over a business phone.

Now, if you can't call Foulwell and piss him off over the
phone, what can you do to him? Wait 'til he comes to your
town (invite him to come to your church) and then tar and
feather him. If you use a rail to ride him out of town on,
make sure there are plenty of splinters on that dude. What
ever happened to that technique? It isn't used much anymore.
That's sad because it would be so appropriate in many cases
like our fiend --er-- friend Jerry.

Tom Frye
