[bell.wanted] TERMCAP for Apple II running ZTERM on CP/M

djc1@ihuxp.UUCP (09/24/83)

After my first attempt at using news, I can perhaps now be more precise in
the definition of my problem. I'm using an Apple II with the Videx Videoterm
80 column card, CP/M, and ZTERM "The Professional" as my terminal emulator.

ZTERM gives definitions in the instruction manual
of several terminals which it can emulate. (Datamedia, Soroc IQ-120,
Hazeltine 1500, Adds Regents and DEC VT52.) I've tried emulating each of
the terminals, setting TERMCAP to the appropriate one and running vi
when dialed up to Unix.

Each time strange things happen. It appears as if (1) the screen is not
getting cleared and (2) that the clear to end of line function does not
work. I've tried several changes to both the ZTERM emulation tables and
to TERMCAP but have had no luck. Is there anyone out there with a similar
configuration that works well with vi or does anyone have any suggestions?
