[tor.general] need someone to wire up an alarm system for us

dave@lsuc.UUCP (David Sherman) (03/12/85)

I'm looking for a student (or other equally inexpensive person :-))
who has enough technical knowhow to wire up an alarm system for us,
running through the RS-232 connectors of our terminals. I already
have the details on how to do this (I asked on the net last year
and lots of people told me how), but I don't have the time, inclination
or hardware savvy to do it myself. I don't think the whole job
will take more than a few hours.

This person will:
	- jumper together a couple of pins inside each terminal;
	- find an appropriate alarm system (I understand the regular
		home burglar systems will do fine);
	- hook it up at our machine end.
Our terminals' cables were specially built with two wires hanging out
at the machine end, and those wires going to pins 24 and 25 at the
terminal end, so it should be easy. (There are 13 terminals.)

Pay: negotiable. I'd prefer to contract on a fixed-fee basis, so
anyone interested can come take a look at it and quote me a figure.
