A Remington New-Model belt-revolver is available for the serious weapon collector. This gun is amongst one of the most popular single-action ball-and-cap revolvers during the civil war. Data: Length: 11 3/8 in. Barrel: 6 1/2 in. 2 lbs. 1 oz. 6 shot single-action ball-and-cap. .38 caliber. Marked: On top of the barrel, PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 over E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK. U.S. Serial number 2963 Notes: Smaller version of the New Model Navy Revolver. Made under F. Beals patent 21478 granted sept. 14 1858. Has an octagonal barrel, steel blade front-sight, brass oval trigger guard, walnut grip, and rifled with five grooves. Actually produced between 1860-1862. This particular piece is in mint condition.
