Washington D.C.'s rail transit system (Metro) still observes the blueness of Sundays in half-hearted fashion, as its hours of operation show: Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m. until midnight Saturday 8:00 a.m. until midnight Sunday 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. When the rail system originally opened in 1976, there was no Sunday operation. As to how the Sunday opening time was selected, two facts may or may not be relevant: at the time the decision was made, a prominent Washington D.C. clergy member served on the board that made the decision; the clergy member's services began at 11:00 a.m. Meanwhile, out in Los Angeles. . .does Giant Felix Chevrolet still hold to its "No Sunday selling" policy? -- UUCP: ..decvax!seismo!elsie!ado ARPA: elsie!ado@seismo.ARPA DEC, VAX and Elsie are Digital Equipment and Borden trademarks
