Here's a sad but true story from the local paper that fits in the defunct net.bizarre: WESTMINSTER, COLORADO -- A man held in the alleged kidnapping of two teenage girls told police he was trying to frighten the pair out of hitchhiking again, officials said on Sunday. Christie Brown and Jeanine Bailey, both 15, jumped from a van Friday when they decided the driver was abducting them instead of taking them to Westminster Mall as they'd asked. Brown remained in critical condition Sunday ... with head injuries. Bailey was treated for cuts and bruises. Officials estimated the van was travelling 35 to 40 mph when the girls jumped out. ...
