I have a dust-gathering Revox B77 for sale. It is a quarter-track 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 ips machine (the last time I asked, a set of half-track heads cost about $300 + installation). I believe that the speeds can also be upgraded by replacing the capstan. I'm aware of two problems with the machine. The carrying handle is cracked on one side, and the tape / source switch needs cleaning (it sometimes must be jiggled to make contact). I don't want to spend money repairing the unit until I get an idea of its market value. I'm selling it with five 10.5 " reels of Maxell, six 10.5" reels of Teac (Scotch), and six 7" reels of Maxell tape. Given that a new Revox B77 costs over $2500, I think that $1200 is a reasonable price, but I'll consider all offers. I'll also consider trading (I'm interested in a laptop with a legible screen, an AT-compatible, an Amiga, or a multisync monitor). If the item traded is more or less valuable than the Revox, the difference can be made up in cash. Reply via E-mail, or call (416) 498-8821 between about 9 AM and 9 PM.
