The UNIX Special Interest Group of the Canadian Information Processing
Society (CIPS) is pleased to anounce its next meeting:

May 16, 1989: Digital Equipment of Canada
Bill Wallace will talk about the present and future of ULTRIX (DEC's
UNIX offering) and DEC's involvement with OSF.

NOTE: Following the talk there will be a demonstration of DEC WINDOWS on a
MIPS based DECStation 3100.

The UNIX SIG is mainly oriented towards people who are new to UNIX.  All
meetings take place at the Board of Trade, from 6:15 to 7:30 pm.  Both members
and non-members are welcome.  We hope to see you there.

I don't really mean to be picky, but posting this message about the
CIPS presentation on the day before it happens almost totally guarantees
that most folk will not be able to attend. Firstly, news propagation
means the article will not reach even all the sites in Toronto that day;
Secondly, some (most) of us need more than 24 hours to change evening
plans; thirdly, some of us can't get to our news but once a day.

I appreciate the effort to post these, but some reasonable lead time
is needed. This is not directly aimed at this posting, but at a number
of postings to this group from CIPS, U of T and U of W.
