[tor.general] Meeting at City Hall, 19:00, Aug. 2

I received this from my city councillor. I will type in the letter.
Sorry for the short notice.

------------------

You are likely aware that the City of Toronto has begun to formulate a
new official plan. ``Cityplan 91'' will be the document that guides
land use for the city into the next century. The document will have a
significant impact, either positively or negatively, upon the
environment. Environmentalists need to have their voices heard on
this issue. Your concerns can be integrated into the Plan, but you
must articulate them.

As part of the Toronto Environmental Alliance's project,
``Environmentalists Plan Toronto'', you have an opportunity to
contribute to the Cityplan 91. On Wednesday, August 2nd, at 7:00 PM
there will be a meeting at Toronto (new) City Hall, 2nd floor,
Committee Room #4 to get your input to the Plan. Members from both
the Taskforce on the Plan, and staff from the City's Planning
Department will be attending the meeting.

The agenda will include a presentation from the Cityplan staff, a
question and answer period and, as always, an opportunity to voice
your ideas and opinions. Please come out and make your concerns
heard.

Environmentalists Plan Toronto has a number of other meetings on other
topics scheduled:

	* August 16th		Waterfront
	* August 30th The Built Environment
	* September 6th Nature and Wildlife

Your views on any of these issues would be welcome. Please give us
your visions.

Yours sincerely,

Don Houston Marilyn Churley

I will not be able to attend the meeting. I have called the above
phone number and asked if I can send in my opinions and comments by
letter. The answer is yes. I also asked for a copy of the minutes of
the meeting.
