*** *** We have just completed a new art publication called "The Act", a journal of performance art. (Performance art is code for experimental theater, visual art theater, theater of other cultures - human activity in general...) The coverage is international of critique, speculation, and representation of performance activity - no reviews - and is produced by working artists - it's eclectic, smart, and looks good. This first issue of 16 authors/artists include: Allan Kaprow ('father of happenings'), Sylvere Lotringer (general editor of "Semiotexte"), and Jerome Rothenberg (poet, anthropologist). We are looking for the names of 'good' bookstores, i.e. ones that would carry art journals and have a clientel interested in the arts. This could include museums and 'alternative spaces'. We are also interested in distributors who specialize the arts (we have Bernhard Deboer Inc, supposedly 'the best', doing a test distribution in NYC only). We will contact the bookstores, send them a copy, and go from there... if only you could send us names. We have Manhattan, Paris, San Francisco and Berkeley covered. This is what we need: Chicago Los Angeles San Diego Atlanta Houston Iowa City Cincinnati Portland Seattle Mexico City Tokyo & Japan The Midwest The South London/Great Britain Italy France (excluding Paris) West Germany South America Russia Poland Eastern Bloc Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated... Thank you, Jeffrey Greenberg, Editor The Act (Visiting Artist at OSU) (Systems Programmer Consultant (sic)) cbosgd!osu-eddie!green
