The UNIX Special Interest Group of the Canadian Information Processing
Society (CIPS) is pleased to announce its next meeting:


Motorola Computer Systems

Date: Tuesday, November 21, 1989

Motorola Computer Systems is a major supplier of UNIX-based platforms.

Steve Salkeld, General Manager of Motorola Computer Systems, will discuss
Motorola's participation with AT&T in the release of UNIX System V Release 4,
including Motorola's co-writing of the secure UNIX portion.  He will also
give an overview of Motorola's 68030-based systems and their new 88000 RISC
(Reduced Instruction Set Computing) platforms running UNIX.

Demonstrations will include a 20 user 68030 system and an 88000 RISC board.


The UNIX SIG is mainly oriented towards people who are new to UNIX.  All
meetings take place at the Board of Trade, from 6:15 to 7:30 pm.  Both members
and non-members are welcome.  We hope to see you there.
