I was walking down Bloor yesterday, when I noticed that one of the neighbourhood bookstores is going out of business. They are selling off their paperbacks for half the cover price. These are real, honest-to-God, mass market paperbacks, folks. I picked up three Pierre Berton books, Paul Theroux's "Riding the Iron Rooster", Hunter Thompson's "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 72" and the Hachette guide to France for $20!! The problem is that they don't have a lot left. They did have plenty of Agatha Christie, and assorted this's and that's that might be of interest. If you're in the neighbourhood (Bloor/Spadina), it might be worth a look. Book City (across the street) is having a Penguin Hurts sale right now too. The bookstore is called Alexander's Books, and is on the north side of Bloor, about two blocks east of Bathurst. (It goes without saying that I have no connection with them.) -- Mike Godfrey Dept of Comp Sci, UofT "Soulwise, these are trying times." migod@csri.toronto.edu -- Strunk and White
