No, this is not being generated by the vacation(1) program. I am posting this in the flesh, as it were, to let everybody know that I'll be out of town for three weeks starting today. For my first vacation in several years, I am off to visit a friend in Germany. Since I don't speak German and have never left the United States before, this is going to be an exciting (?) trip. :-). For those of you who are testing my cron -- thanks, please keep at it. For those who mysteriously missed my previous announcement, well, if you have time to screw around with yet another chunk of public domain code over the holidays, grab "cron2-beta.tar.Z" (53613 bytes) via FTP from gatekeeper.dec.com (which is 128.45.9.52), look in /pub/vixie. Direct UUCP neighbors of DECWRL can find it in decwrl!~/pub/vixie. DECWRL is not taking new UUCP connections just for Cron, sorry. It will be posted to comp.sources.unix in January, though. The "Newsgroups:" selection for this article has got to have people wondering. "ba.general" is read by the locals who might wonder where I've gone off to; "comp.mail.uucp" is where I seem to have several open conversations running right now; "comp.sources.d" is where Cron beta-testers are probably hanging out. The Postmaster and Usenet aliases at all the sites I run are being handled by competent people; nothing is going to fall into the sea while I'm gone. If anyone desperately needs to reach me, send mail to <pyramid!pcsbst!jkh> and ask him to get it to me; note that this is a low-bandwidth channel and Jordan's patience will quickly come to a screeching end if this is overused. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who lives in that part of the world if they'd like a visit while I'm over there.
