RESEARCH ASSISTANT WANTED:


I am looking for someone to join our research program on
cognitive modeling of high level problem-solving.  We are
concentrating on models of analogical learning and design.



The issues that we are looking at include:
-Pragmatic and semantic constraints on mapping and retreival
-Evaluation and debugging mechanisms that reason about the
relationship  between structure and function via
simulation/envisionment 

Our implementations are in Soar and Lisp.

Requirements:  
1.  Strong programming skills 
2.   Good knowledge of cognitive theories of problem solving  

Level of experience:  
Applicants with either undergraduate or graduate degrees will be
considered; the salary will be commensurate with experience.

Time Frame: 
Flexible.  
A one year position starting between tomorrow and August 1, 1989.
A summer position starting as soon as possible.
