[net.misc] Look for us Tuesday

bmt@we53.UUCP (bmt) (01/28/86)

After the President's State-of-the Union address Tuesday, Jan 28,
in another example of fair and even-handed political reportage,
the networks are not only analysing his message, but also allowing
time for the Democrats to have the last word. As part of their re-
sponse, they will have University City's own beloved Harriett Woods,
and a piece on the St. Louis suburb, which is my home, showing, among
other things, a "typical" night at Blueberry Hill, a local restaurant
and bar, and a typical grandfather helping his typical granddaughter
ride her training-wheel-equipped bicycle down the city's bicycle paths.
What's exciting about all this for me is that the grandfather, a stout
Republican, is my father-in-law, and the lovely red-headed five-year-old
is my own daughter Rebekah. They, with me and the rest of my family,
are in the "typical" Blueberry Hill crowd, though none of us ever set
foot in the place before, nor are very likely to again, and very
definitely not Democrats, but we were invited there for dinner by my
brother-in-law, who was the producer of the story, and didn't have any
other talent to work with on such short notice. So, if you want to see
what this good old net personality and his lovely family look like, you
can watch after the address. I'm the one in the blue-and-white striped
shirt who's asking, "when do we eat? My food's getting cold, I don't
care if my shadow's on the person you've got the camera trained on!" :-)

See ya. Or, actually, see me. Tell me how good we all look! 8*)

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait another week.
