I know refer has problems, but has anyone concocted an automated way
to print out an entire bibliography using refer and troff? We have
a gross procedure whereby you grep the %T lines to create a fake
document consisting only of references. Unfortunately it requires
a lot of hand work to disambiguate titles containing the same "important"
words (too many hits) or to delete words that refer refuses to recognize
in the title (an apparent bug.. not words like the, and, etc...).
If anyone has a complete alternative to refer (including docs)
which will do a full bibliography, please let me know. Hopefully
if it uses a different format for the references there should be
interconversion programs (?).
Help!! This seems like a mildly important area, especially to universities.
There must be some hack that mitigates this hack called refer. Take pity.
