Glad to help. There are four versions of Wang WP
(WangWriter, VS, OIS, PC). Wang has software that converts
between them to 99% accuracy (perfectly acceptable).

Emacs runs on the IBM PC. Call Unipress. There was an
announcement on net.emacs.

Diskettes are compatible between IBM and Wang PCs. So any
text file that eventually gets into a Wang PC can get to
the IBM PC. I often prepare documents in Wang PC WP at
home, use the document-to-file conversion utility, download
the file into my VAX through the VT100 emulator, and go
from there, emacs or whatever. What you cannot do, of
course, is use the internal form of a Wang WP document for
anything outside the WP environment. Thus you lose
underlines and the like, but the layout is kept by the
conversion utility. I can prepare Scribe documents in WP
without trouble, for instance.
